The AVRC Community Advisory Board (CAB) is a volunteer community advisory group that provides community members the opportunity to learn about ongoing HIV research and provide valuable feedback on proposed clinical research studies.
Our CAB was established in 1990 and for over 30 years continues to:
All persons from diverse backgrounds are welcome to join our CAB, regardless of medical history, current health, or HIV status. We especially encourage those who have taken part in clinical trials or who are currently enrolled in one.
During our CAB meetings, a researcher usually discusses current projects or pending research studies. At the end of the discussion following questions and answers, CAB members discuss business matters including educational or fundraising events in the community.
There are often exceptions, so it is generally a good idea to call us first at (619) 543-8080.
